Weekly Photo Challenge: A Day in the Life…

Sunrise over the water

The day begins with a sunrise over the water

The challenge this week is to show a day in your life in pictures. Well, right now, I’m living on a sailboat in Florida with Bob and our two Westies, Angus and Charles. Like everybody else, we have no completely “typical” day, but there are parts to our routine that repeat themselves. This is what a day looks like when we’re at the dock in the marina. It would look quite different if we were on our way somewhere or anchored somewhere. We don’t have a lot of “things” with us so we live simply and enjoy all the small moments that make up our days. And when it’s time to go to bed, our home afloat rocks us gently to a deep, restful sleep.

My one and only selfie so far. Here’s me at home on Windsong II…

  2. Hi Sherry,

Gosh I would love to live on a sailboat! Thank you for sharing snippets of your day… so unique yet familiar 🙂 Hope you are having a good weekend xo

  3. what an adventure you must live…waking up to a beautiful sunrise, being gently rocked to sleep at night. Sounds heavenly. My brother & his wife sailed for a year several years back and always have great stories to tell. I wish you well!!

  4. What a charmed life….beautiful photo’s, and both the sunrise and the sunset are gorgeous….I would love to try this sometime…we have a boat at our house in Maine…not like this but we could easily sleep on it…perhaps I’ll give it a try this summer.

  5. I used to have a sailboat … a little 18-foot centerboarder that had a draft so shallow (16″ with the board up) we could sail her on a wet hankie. We used to sail in the marshes and channels on Long Island where the water was often very shallow. You reminded me of those days, long ago.

Let's connect...I love to read your thoughts...thanks for visiting!
