Deep grief sometimes is almost like a specific location, a coordinate on a map of time. When you are standing in that forest of sorrow, you cannot imagine that you could ever find your way to a better place. But if someone can assure you that they themselves have stood in that same place, and now have moved on, sometimes this will bring hope.
How nice to meet you Rhianne! Thanks so much for your kind comments. I’m might impressed with your blog. And very envious of all your cool cameras.
I just discovered your blog through the August Break and I’m so glad that I did, I love how you match quotes and words to photographs and your quotes in your about me section are perfect too. I’m really looking forward to reading more of your blog.
Thanks so much, Kim. I captured this image in St. Petersburg, Russia some time ago as our boat went under a bridge. The woman was looking down and her face was so full of pain that it touched me deeply. I can only imagine what was going on in her life.
I do so appreciate your words, Diane. I am A-OK. I was just reflecting on the fact that it’s important to remember that while many are having a happy and light-filled summer, there will always be those who are suffering and grieving and lost…and we need to be sensitive and compassionate to their pain.
Thanks so much, Cheryl. It was a bit of an experiment — something different for me…
This image is incredibly powerful, Sherry. It really shows the swirling emotions of grief.
I too love your choice of processing to more deeply convey the mood. But I worry that this may be close to home for you and I am wishing that all is well.
So beautiful Sherry…I love that quote and will save it…Your processing is just wonderful.
Happy Sunday.
Let's connect...I love to read your thoughts...thanks for visiting!
