For years upon years upon years,
I dreamed the days away.
As I stared out the window of my speeding train,
the images of my life rushed by in a bright stream,
pulsing, flowing, exploding with colour and light
never stopping really,
ever.
There were always words there too, in my mind,
but they fluttered in and out,
trying so hard to make me believe them.
I couldn’t love them enough, though,
to give them a life of their own.
Until now.
I remember seeing this when you posted it…and thinking how beautiful it was…the words, equally as beautiful
Beautiful marriage of word and picture….Since I am a weaver as well as a photographer, I immediately thought what a beautiful tapestry your capture would make….
Your words and images are so heartfelt, Sherry, and magic together.
I am so glad you have given them life, Sherry, and they are truly beautiful.
Happy day to you, my friend!
Mmmm. Keep doing this, Sherry. xo ML
wow, beautiful image but your words are really fantastic Sherry. Well done.
I am glad you love them now and are sharing your words with the rest of us!
Intensely beautiful, both words and image!
Wonderful in all expression!
Beauty speaks. There is such fluidity; from your mesmerizing photograph (I was transfixed and remained with it for some time before slipping into your words) to the flow of your thoughts and the depth of their meaning. Liquid Artistry …
Agree with prior comments. Wonderfully constructed poem and your image is rich with color and intensity. Terrific post, Sherry.
Winestains beat me to it, what a beautiful line. I love this poem. I feel like you are telling my story, too.
“I couldn’t love them enough, though,
to give them a life of their own.
Until now.” Wow.
